We didn't know what to expect when we booked this tour. We just wanted to do something adventurous, therefore, we booked an all day tour with Danny, and I must say it was one of the most memorable of our trip. We took a mini road trip to Guatape and visited little villages in between. My gosh! Colombia is such a scenic place! Our eyes were restless from viewing all angles of this beautiful place. We had a great time with Danny. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Colombia, which seemed to make the travel time fly by. He also played us Colombian music and explained how Africa had such a big impact on the culture there. He also embraced our music as we road along to the different tunes to our destination. When we got to Guatape we climbed all the way to the top! What a challenge you will never forget. Danny was very professional, on time, courteous, and down to earth! The Andes Adventure has been officially stamped by Noir Mien LLC!
Indigo Hues make some of the most beautiful arrangements. I ordered a floral arrangement for my grandmother's funeral and the flowers were just breathtaking. I didn't even have an idea of what I wanted, so I was shown a catalog of pictures and was asked to select the the styles that I liked. Just going by those selections, Indigo Hues was able to customize my arrangements according to my styles of preference. Indigo Hues knows the true essence of elegance, class, and sophistication. We ordered a purse online through The LimeLight Collection as a personal gift for a friend. The purse was gorgeous and you can tell the quality of it was well worth the price. This beautiful gem can be worn with any elegant dress, at any sophisticated moment. The shipping was super fast and they even customized a birthday card along with the gift. The clutch was professionally packaged and is highly recommended. We toured with Connection Travel to Rio Claro, and I must say...we had a blast! We had so much fun that we lost our GoPro camera while in the process and didn't flinch one bit! Diego picked us up at our Airbnb and took us to breakfast first thing in the morning. He introduced us to a Colombian style breakfast that was very tasty, to make sure we had a full stomach for the long ride ahead. When we got there, we changed into our outdoor clothes and headed to our day of fun. We went rock climbing (which was a little challenging, but easy enough for a 5 year old or a 55 year old), cave trekking (which was the most adventurous), and water rafting. We even had the option to zip line, but we ran out of time. This tour is a must do for thrill seekers, and actually it was not as intimidating as it looked. Diego was heartbroken because we lost our camera that had such great footage, however, we were not. The memories will never replace that lost camera! On behalf of Noir Mien LLC, Connection Travel has been stamped with our approval.
Out of all of the tours we went on in Colombia, Luis was probably the most knowledgeable and passionate of the also great guides we experienced. This tour hits home for Luis, and it was very obvious in his teachings. Luis explained how his presence in Colombia (when the drug war was going on) was comparable to Iraq. We all know that Escobar shook the country of Colombia, but it was that...that made Colombia what it is today- a future tourist attraction. I foresee big things happening for this country because there is sooooooo much there to offer. Luis took us through the cities on a cable cart with a panoramic view. It was so relaxing and just breathtaking at the same time. One thing about Medellin is no matter where you are, there will always be a scenic view for "free" that hotels rooms would charge extra for. Luis was sooooo humble and kind. Our tour was only for a couple hours, but Luis spent almost the whole day with us. Luis is very professional and we will definitely use him again for our next visit. This is a nice hotel in Haiti. It was clean, customer service was good, and the food was pretty good as well. The views aren't the best, being that it's in the middle of the city. There are a lot of hustlers on the street selling some of everything. They have beautiful artwork vendors right across the street from the hotel. Beware when you go over there, everyone is going to beg you to buy something, but if you have a strong will and know what you want, get some things. Those are some really talented folks, and you can find any artwork to match your decor at home. There is a pool, but we didn't go in it, but we sat outside by it, which was nice. The Marriot was comfortable. I would stay again.
This hotel is a little small, but no worries, they are currently and halfway complete with rebuilding, and adding triple the number of rooms. I was a little sad to see that they partnered with the Marriott because the vibe is just perfect from the hustle and bustle of large chain restaurants, which may change that. This hotel was very peaceful and you almost felt at home. The staff was nice, and THAT GABRIEL (employee) kept us entertained. We also met one of the owners who was also nice and humble. She blended right on in with the visitors like an average person just hanging around and enjoying the scenery. This hotel has an awesome view and is close to the ocean. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance. I'm sad to see this place "grow" away, but excited to see what this new hotel will bring to Haiti's economy and tourism. I believe the hotel will be open until 2019, which is when the new one is supposed to open. In between that time, try this hotel out. It's nice, clean, laid back, and safe.
This place will take your breath away. It is just magical! We rode a mule all the way to the top. It would be a great workout if you just want it, however, we were not about that life. When we finally reached the top, we were greeted by this humongous magical castle-like structure. We had trouble trying to understand how it possibly was built with bleeding hands. The history behind it is so historical, it adds to the Haitian Revolution, bringing it back to life and reliving that spirit of passion for freedom, pride, and dignity. Haiti was a true force to be reckoned with, and you will see that here. There were cannons and cannon balls aligned all around the fortress overlooking the island. The fortress sits so high on the mountain that you can literally almost reach out and touch a cloud. The view is gorgeous and you just literally feel like you are on top of the world. It is such a little gem. I was surprised at the lack of tourism to this place, because it was well worth the visit.
We volunteered with Mr. Yahaya's, one of many, organizations called the Bridgewater Project. He allowed us to volunteer however we chose to. Therefore, we decided to host a talent contest for the kids, in which we provided prizes for the winners. We also hosted a Black Doll Fashion Contest. Mr. Yahaya explained to us that that was the first time the little girls had ever seen dolls that looked like them. That broke my heart, but we were also happy to be the ones to reveal a reflection of beauty that looked like them. The little girls were so creative and took this contest to the next level. These dolls turned out fierce! If these dolls could walk, they would have been strutting the runway. We provided small gift bags for the children, which was the hardest thing to go through, because we ran out of gifts bags and the ones who couldn't get anything were so heartbroken :-( . If you choose to do something like this, keep that in mind. The kids laughed, played and danced and made me realize that "poor" is just a state of mind. What a humble experience! Mr. Yahaya provided us with a car service the entire time. We had plenty of down time to visit museums, and we also were able to visit the Elmina and Cape Coast slave castles. This a must do, for not just people of color, but for everyone. Our driver stuck to our side. We felt safe with him. Adjea became such a brother to us that we showered him with hugs and kisses when he dropped us off at the airport. Such beautiful people. Yahaya is a political leader in his community, and you can automatically see it by the amount of respect he is given by the people.
Malcolm was such a breath of fresh air. After being taken advantage of by other local taxi and private drivers, we stumbled across this humble man. Malcolm has a brand new van and was on time for all of our pick ups. He took us anywhere we needed to go, and it never mattered what time it was. He also made sure we felt safe, and he never dropped us off at places that he knew wasn't safe. Malcolm made us little snacks for our mini trips to Crop Over Events, and one of the biggest advantages of riding with Malcolm was.....AIR CONDITION! Yes! This is hard to come by with drivers in Barbados. Although it doesn't get too hot there, the humidity will not let you forget its presence. We will definitely use Malcolm upon our return again. We hate to share Malcolm, but he deserves the world. Malcolm Nelson of Barbados has been officially stamped with our approval!
This restaurant is pretty new. The food is delicious. They did a pretty good job with the construction as well. This is a nice place to host events. The drinks are pretty good as well. As a new business they are definitely coming along.
Onoufrios was a great guide. There was a little misunderstanding about the meet up, but he made sure to keep communications with us the whole time until he found us. He was very patient for tending with a group of girls on a a very hot and humid day. He was knowledgeable about the history of the different monuments that we went to, and you can tell that he is very passionate about what he does. He was very kind and strongly recommended.
The tour was a good experience. The guide was easy to find and signed us in right away. Our guide was Francisca. She was very spunky and rambunctious with a lot of energy. She kept us entertained throughout the whole tour. She was very professional and had great control of the group. My only concern was the outdated history of Christopher Columbus being the founder of the Americas and we all know that one can't discover something that was already there. History is a very important factor, so that was a disappointment. She also stated she was from another country, so maybe her knowledge of the history of Spain may be a little biased or watered down. Other than that, the tour was a great introduction to Barcelona and we didn't regret it. Francisca also sent us an email of different suggestions and things to do in Barcelona, which was very nice of her to do.
Palacio del Flamenco was quite an experience. Upon arrival they welcomed us into a room where they had a large monitor playing about the history of Flamenco. Soon after two dancers came in an gave us a little private flamenco dance lesson to get our feet wet into what it takes to be a flamenco dancer. It was fun and very engaging and got our juices flowing. After everyone was pumped up, they allowed us to enter the seating area. We did get the VIP package, therefore we were very close to the stage, however, it looks like all the seats were pretty good seats no matter where you sat. We were then served our food. The food was mediocre. It was not so bad, but it wasn't great. The performers were superb. Our favorite was the older lady, who seemed to be the most seasoned of them all. They were all good, but she was a force to be reckoned with. It was a great experience. You have to see a Flamenco show when in Barcelona.
Basilica de la Sagrada FamÃlia is a site to see. The details and the architect of this building is just breathtaking. We booked our tickets on the website and elected to do a self tour with the audio guide at our own pace. This place is monumental. I believe there is some construction going on, but still doesn't take away from its beauty. The wait wasn't too long as well. We did a morning tour, and after about an hour we had seen more than we could see. Basilica de la Sagrada FamÃlia is a must do for first time visitors to Barcelona.
Dans le Noir is quite a humbling experience. Who would have thought that eating in the dark would bring a whole appreciation for the things we take for granted. Not only was the Dans le Noir experience excellent, but the food was delicious! This is type of dinner is ONLY for the open minded. There are lessons to be taught time and time again. I would do this over and over again to remind myself to pay attention to everything around me. WOW! What an amazing experience and a MUST DO in Barcelona!
We did the SPIRITS-N-SPIRITS⢠TOUR with 2nd Line Tours and I must say, "Man! What an experience!" Most voodoo tours in New Orleans are often unauthentic, watering down the religion to something of propagated "spookie" ghost stories and vampires as seen on TV. This tour was very eye opening and educational. You learn about not only the context behind the true religion of voodoo, but also a huge history about New Orleans and its many tribulations and its ability to overcome those obstacles. Wow! What a history New Orleans has! This company is highly recommended if you want the truth. At the end we met with Dr. Solomon (Voodoo Priest), whom was so warm and comforting and brought peace unto us. It was like a spiritual cleanse. We would do this tour every time we visit!
First and far most, The Lash Designory's facilities are very classy and upscale. The ambiance is very relaxing. The facilities are very clean and each tech provides your services in a private room. I saw Robin for my lash extensions. Robin was so down to earth and very welcoming, like a long time girlfriend next door. The service was superb. Your time is respected and there was no wait if you have an appointment. Now, there were a couple of times we had to stop because I felt like my eye was burning. I won't necessarily blame Robin, because it was raining and I got soak and wet in the rain. I washed my face clean, however there could have been a mixture of oils from my hair, which also got soaked, that could have seeped down on my face and mixed with glue. I did get an eye infection that I had to get a prescription for. However, I did go there a second time and didn't have any issues. I definitely recommend them. So much class, professionalism, and elegance!
The Cajun Swamp tours was a good way to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of the city of New Orleans. Everything from the reservations to the coordination was smooth sailing. The boat tour was nice and smooth and not too crowded. It was fun seeing all the wildlife and listening to stories of information being told about the different species. We had special, surprise animal encounters on the boat. It is a cool experience, especially if you have children. The host used humor and personality to gain our attention and participation. We definitely recommend this tour.
This hotel was very nice. The customer service was superb. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed was super comfortable. Our room had a view of the Elizabeth River, which was beautiful. Room service was a great experience. It has a rooftop bar that seems to draw a nice professional crowd. It is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and historical sites. This hotel is highly recommended.
Clue Carre was a fun experience. We did the French Quarter House of Curiosities and it was quite challenging. Although, we ran out of time, we had a blast! This is great for families, couples, company moral groups, and even friends. Booking was easy and smooth. You won't be disappointed!
Nothing is worse than being stuck on a tour when the guide is bland, boring, and with no personality. Well, SANDEMANs NEW Dublin's free walking tour was quite amusing. Our guide kept us laughing the whole time. He even taught us how to say some things in Irish. With that being said, "He gave us some crack!" (You're going to have to take the tour to understand what I mean). We made quite a few stops with a brief historical updates. This is a great way to be introduced into the city of Dublin. It's not worth the price, because it's free with an experience you could never repay!
